The blunt lagging glass electrode tip cannot penetrate the brain tissue well and gives considerable pressure to the brain tissue, which is easy to cause greater trauma. Electrode sharpening can effectively reduce the damage to the brain tissue caused by the blunt glass electrode tip, and inject viruses, dyes or drugs into the target brain area more precisely. As shown in Figures A and B, the injection area can be precisely controlled to within 300 microns using this injection combination.
